Veteran Philadelphia area musician and songwriter Drew Shanefield brings his unique and eclectic catalog of music to Jamey’s House of Music. This collection of songs, curiously named Vernon Papers, encompasses much of Drew’s musical output from the last few years...“I think VP started as a way to create an alternative persona, one that’s for me, devoid of history and expectation. Vernon Papers began as a collection of home recordings. As a result, much of the ego is gone, dismissing excuses and the need for perfection. The only need is to be genuine and search for musical truth.”
On stage, Drew’s Vernon Papers experience is largely a solo one. An acoustic, an electric and a notebook full of musings. The sound at times can be raw and from the depths, and at other times vulnerable and thoughtful. Always from the heart and the gut.

B-6 — A power trio collision of groove, grit, and deep musical instinct forged from years inside blues rooms, jazz clubs, and sweat-soaked late-night jam sessions.
drums that hit like truth, bass that rumbles in your chest, and guitar lines sharp enough to cut through a crowded room.
Rooted in jazz-funk fusion but never limited by it, B-6 slides effortlessly between searing blues, psychedelic soul, and deep-pocket improvisation that feels alive in the moment. On any given night you might hear a touch of Hendrix, a whisper of Scofield, and the raw emotional punch of early-70s electric blues — all filtered through their own fearless, modern voice.
Every B-6 performance is a full on ride - unpredictable, spacious and locked into funk rhythms that dive into deep hypnotic territory.
Bold, urgent, and meant to be felt. If you love high-caliber live music played with heart, danger, and precision, do not miss B-6.

Five veteran bluesmen with long and storied careers playing America's original musical artform as handed down through the years by the black men and women whose lives were shaped by tribulation and hardship in the American south, largely at the hands of slavery, and refined and electrified in the big citys up north after emancipation. Long is the list of greats who formed and influenced these gentlemen today, and fortuitous circumstance brought them together while performing at Jamey's House of Music in Lansdowne PA, where they played with other well known blues acts....Jamey's is one of the premiere blues rooms in the northeast with regular appearances by major national and international blues artists as well as regional and local players. AC Steel and the Perpetrators is one of the featured groups that calls Jamey's home. They are all highly accomplished players, and the band is tight and well oiled. AC Steel provides crisp guitar work and handles the vocals along with Glenn Bickel, and the combination of Hammond organ and Frank McKitty's tenor sax gives a distinct Chicago feel to the sound. Bassist Jamey Reilly and drummer Joe Biase drive a deep pocket for the band to swing in. We hope you'll join the loyal fans and visit Jamey's to hear AC and the Perps some Thursday night!

“Mike Montrey and his cohorts in his namesake outfit are one of New Jersey’s best current exports, turning out high-caliber songwriting and rootsy musicianship for a world lacking enough of the former and practically bereft of the latter.” – Medium..“Mike Montrey Band can slide from buoyancy to lament in the space of a few seconds. High-spirited melodies and exploratory musicianship keep this [group] from settling anywhere near easy classification.” – Relix Magazine
Montrey does that with his new masterpiece, John Street, but particularly flexes his Young muscles with the help of sought-after session player Dave Pearlman on pedal steel and dobro.” – NJArts
“A stunning Americana sound also heard on Mike’s 2018 masterpiece, John Street, which won him the Makin Waves Male Artist of the Year Award.” – The Aquarian
“This new record is chock-full of promising & optimistic messages, which we could all use right now! This album offers plenty of heart, soul and fine musicianship all around.” – Skope Magazine
“Mike Montrey, and his eponymous band don’t mind showing us the way with their latest performance, which is already being heralded as one of the smarter cuts of its kind to debut on record store shelves this summer.” – Indie Pulse Music
When the Mike Montrey Band, known for their dynamic fusion of Americana and Rock & Soul, set out to craft their latest album, Love, Time & Mortality, they did more than just record songs—they encapsulated the essence of life’s relentless march through poignant musical narratives. Mike Montrey, the band’s frontman and principal songwriter, possesses a distinct ability to weave personal tales with broader philosophical musings, a craft honed over more than two decades of songwriting and performing across the United States.
On the surface level, you get a classic Americana sound, steered by acoustic guitar, upright bass, and fiddle, with a dash of pedal steel, organ, and harmonies. Montrey, who self-produced the album, wanted it to sound like walking through a field of wildflowers in late spring on a grass plain somewhere in America, in shimmering sunlight. Anchored by his gruff, emotive vocals and dexterous acoustic guitar work, an intoxicating sonic brew laced with world-weary wisdom and poetic storytelling unfolds. It is an ambitious, thematically rich exploration of the human condition itself – dissecting those inescapable abstractions we all grapple with from the moment we enter this world. Love, time, mortality – those eternal forces constantly shaping our chaos, joy, despair, and everything in between.
Take the opener, “Stained Glass Window Panes,” a wistful remembrance of Montrey’s late mother and her love of colored glass reflecting life’s beauty and fragility. Over an upbeat melody, Montrey’s craggy baritone transports you directly into his childhood home as he sings, “I used to ask you what you needed more / Extra money or a hand in yours / But you’d just say to me you needed time / Before you’d tell me with your hand in mine.” It’s a poignant opener that encapsulates the entire album’s messy humanity and quest for truth.
Then there’s the carpe diem ethos, which epitomizes the vintage-sounding “Fortune Teller” – a mid-tempo fiddle ballad that embraces life’s ephemeral thrills instead of perpetually pining for what could be. Montrey sings, “There’s about a million ways that you can move in and out of this scene / But one day we’re all gonna meet the maker / So you could settle down somewhere and think about what you’ve seen, or you can get a move on, and chase the chaser.”
But Montrey doesn’t just lament about death and the past. No, he’s got a romantic streak, too, captured exquisitely on the shimmering “Holdin’ on to Nothin’” – A candlelit duet with longtime singing partner Jen Augustine – the track distills love’s perennial push-and-pull into an achingly intimate conversation: “Holdin’ on to nothin’ / Still holdin’ on to you / Lookin’ for the money / That we blew through / They say it serves you right / You should’ve run like hell / But I got reasons to hold on still / I’m holdin’ on to nothin’ / Still holdin’ on to you.”
The album production shuns over-polished aesthetics for a more grounded, organic feel. This choice underscores the themes of authenticity and impermanence that run through the album. The engineering work by Adam Vaccarelli not only captures, but enhances the spontaneous bursts of creativity that occurred during the recording sessions.
At his core, the introspective 47-year-old Montrey is the prototypical road-worn artist who has lived enough life to pour those experiences into his craft with uncompromising honesty. From passing family members, going through a divorce, having a child, and starting a business running music programs for adults with disabilities, adulthood’s joys and tests have all etched their marks into his soul over the last turbulent decade-plus.
In terms of legacy, Montrey has been a fixture in the music scene long enough to avoid clichés about musical journeys; his work speaks for itself. His previous collaborations with names like Grammy-winning producers Jim Scott and Marc Swersky brought different flavors to his music. However, with Love, Time & Mortality, Montrey brings us into his most personal songwriting yet.
Aided by an impeccable cast of musicians, like pedal steel wizard Jack Stanton and upright bassist Mike Noordzy, vocalist Jen Augustine, Santo Rizzolo on drums, violinist Nicole Scorsone, and John Ginty on Hammond B3 organ, Vintage Vibe, and piano, every passage hits with uncanny human warmth and intimacy. Just absorb the gorgeous closer “Emotionally Yours,” where Montrey’s gruff baritone wraps itself around Bob Dylan’s timeless melody like a long-lost relative sharing sage advice by the fireside.
In the end, Montrey emerges as that song’s namesake – an emotionally rich storyteller baring his soul and psyche in a brutally honest fashion. Love, Time & Mortality is his State of the Human Condition address, confronting our deepest strifes and joys without filter or copious arty pretense getting in the way.
Mike Montrey Band has not only produced an album but also crafted a sonic exploration of life’s inevitable chapters. As Montrey himself puts it, this record is a “print of what filtered through my heart and soul made by beautiful people who happen to be fantastic musicians.” As listeners, we’re not just hearing another album; we’re privy to a soul laid bare, underscored by the universal experiences of love, time, and the realization that everything eventually comes to an end.
Rather than rest on his indie laurels and bona fides, Montrey’s ongoing commitment to his creative evolution a decade on is all the more impressive, because the Mike Montrey Band has enjoyed quite a bit of success with their albums and live performances. Released three years after the singer/guitarist’s lone solo album A Perfect Reality, MMB’s 2011 debut album Weaving The Basket earned high praise from Aquarian Weekly, which crowed, “(It) rocks, it is spontaneous and dynamic. The songs are true works of art, gems in the rough that have been presented to the listener for their own individual interpretation of value.”
Their 2014 follow-up Song by Song By Song – which reached the Top Ten on the Relix Radio Charts – was produced, incredibly, in six different studios across three states with the help of Grammy-winning engineer Carter William Humphrey (Rod Stewart, Dr. Dre), and Grammy-winning producer Hod David (Maxwell). For John Street (2018), Montrey reached out to another Grammy winner, L.A.-based producer Jim Scott (Wilco, Tom Petty, Tedeschi Trucks Band). In addition to a sea of critical praise from Aquarian Weekly (“The choruses click like magic”), NJ Stage (“A masterpiece”), and Relix (“Introspective, uplifting choruses), the album led to MMB touring the country for two years in the pre-pandemic era, hitting SXSW, L.A., Denver, Nashville and beyond.
Mike Montrey Band’s discography also includes the 2020 EP In the Middle of Hope – “Soaring guitar work, and blissful harmonies take expert songwriting to new heights.” – Indie Band Guru (penned and produced, ironically enough, pre-pandemic, but offering a much-needed hopeful message during an anxious time) and the live album Live Cal Series, Vol. 1, recorded in 2019 at the Highland Brewing Co. in Asheville, NC.
“The last song on the new album ‘Searching for the Sun’ offers the perfect description of the troubadour, never settled, never wants to be settled,” Montrey says. “Looking back on this 20-year journey from my first band ….water… through my years playing with The Samples through this wild ride with MMB, it’s really been an incredible, constantly inspiring ride. I truly was this person, I’ve been to these places, maybe I still am and will always be this person.”
er times vulnerable and thoughtful. Always from the heart and the gut.

Soulful Blues and funky grooves. The Wendy Logan Band is more than just a group of seasoned musicians – they are a musical journey whose mission is to uplift, inspire and create experiences that transcend the ordinary...
Led by the powerful, gritty and sultry vocals of Wendy Logan, along with topnotch musicians, Billy Pierce (guitar), Tom Pendleton (bass), John Thomas (drums) and Mike Rapp (keys), WLB weaves a tapestry of blues, funk, soul and a little bit of rock and roll that invites listeners to tap their feet, shake their hips or just lose (or find) themselves in the music.
WLB 's music is a healing force, a fierce celebration of life's highs and a comforting embrace during the lows. Let the music be the balm that soothes your soul and the rhythm that lifts your spirit.
Joey Stout is an enigma wrapped in a cheesy joke. He is at once the class clown on speed and one of the most intelligent, multi-talented multi-instrumentalists in the game - and gifted with a godly voice to boot. He commands the stage despite every effort to rein him in, to the entertainment of all the 5 year olds in the audience. Beneath his peripatetic armor is a man whose sensitivity and hapless vulnerability attracts the inner mother of every woman he meets. Put him behind an instrument however, and the natural musical savant emerges.
He has decades of cred to his name as a player, producer, engineer and problem solver. You will enjoy what he puts down. it's inspired. Just keep him far away from your fine china.

DUSTIN DOUGLAS AND THE ELECTRIC GENTLEMEN
Blues-rock with a bad attitude
Concert - $25 online advance / $30 door
Kitchen and Happy Hour!- 6pm, Showtime - 8pm
Online advance ticket sales close at 5pm day of show
Raw, relentless, and dripping with soul - DUSTIN DOUGLAS & THE ELECTRIC GENTLEMEN are the modern torchbearers of heavy, Blues-Rock. The band’s highly anticipated fourth album IV via MoMojo Records is a raw, unapologetic, Blues-Rock master course...“IV is an album inspired by letting go of any musical chains,” says Dustin Douglas. “I had no intention of following any genre restraints or restrictions.”
"I wanted to take as many chances as possible,” he adds. “IV certainly has all the elements that make us who we are, but there’s certainly some new and exciting sonic territories being discovered this time around.”
IV the fourth studio endeavor from Dustin Douglas and The Electric Gentlemen is a raw, unapologetic, Blues-Rock Master course. A powerhouse album drenched in whiskey-soaked riffs and soaring Rock n’ Roll vocals that once again display Douglas’ meteoric rise as one of the heaviest hitters in the Blues-Rock world.
Fronted by ferocious guitarist/singer/songwriter Dustin Douglas, The Electric Gentlemen, (Tommy Smallcomb - Drums and Matt Gabriel - Bass) are known to deliver a heavy dose of swagger, groove, and unapologetic rock 'n' roll attitude both on stage and in the studio.
IV was recorded at Eight Days a Week Studios in Northumberland, PA by Paul Smith (Badlees) who engineered and co-produced the album with Douglas. It was mixed and mastered by Nick Coyle (Lifer, Drama Club, Death Valley Dreams).
The first single/video “Damage” was described by Rock Blues and Muse as "Infusing a vintage feel into a modern rock n’ roll vibe, Dustin Douglas has the pipes for rock n’ roll with soul, and he coils himself around this down and dirty song with his made-for-rock voice. The band’s new single is a supercharged, fresh take on their signature, genre defying brand of Blues Rock. Douglas is also a world class guitarist, making him and his power trio the band to watch in 2025."
“Dangerous Game,” the second single from IV leans heavy to the band's Rock n' Roll side. With a signature guitar riff destined to be one of his best, Douglas not only sings of Danger but emits the feeling through a six string fury. “Dangerous Game” is a classic rock rooted adventure with an injection of sleaze and power.
My Rock n’ Roll side on full display with “Dangerous Game,” says Douglas. “My love of AC/DC and The Cult inspired this vibe.” “It felt good to turn up and tune out.”
IV is the follow-up album to DDEG’s 2023 release, BLACK LEATHER BLUES.
DUSTIN DOUGLAS and THE ELECTRIC GENTLEMEN have been nominated and won numerous awards including Steamtown Music Awards (Scranton, PA) Central Pennsylvania Music Awards, Independent Blues Music Awards and Blues Blast Music Awards

Formed in the summer of 2019, the Alicia Maxwell Project is a 4-piece band hailing from the Delmarva area....
Since coming together, the band has performed steadily at clubs and festivals, and has opened up for well-known acts, Danielle Nicole Band, Bywater Call, Popa Chubby and John Nemeth. In 2022 the band released their self-titled album consisting of 8 original tracks. Since its release, the Alicia Maxwell Project has received airtime on Delaware Public Media, BB King’s Bluesville on Sirius XM, and were nominated for 4 Hometown Heroes Homey Awards.
The Alicia Maxwell Project regularly works on and creates new material, both originals and covers. AMP draws from many musical influences, and it is evident at their live show as they will quickly jump from one end of the musical spectrum to another. Each member of the band will stand out with their impressive musicianship and passion and at the same time they gel as if fate meant for them to find one another. Mix that in with Alicia’s Soul drenched serenades that grab you from the first note and you have the well-oiled machine that is AMP. With a set list that is constantly changing and the impulse for improv at the drop of a hat no two shows will be the same. This crew is a must see.
The Alicia Maxwell Project consists of Alicia Maxwell (vocals), Joe Casamento (guitar/vocals), Joe Geiger (bass) and Bill Dube (drums/vocals). The band’s sophomore album, Get Lifted, was released in July, 2025.

Kitchen and Happy Hour!- 6pm, Showtime - 7:30pm

This annual concert is a high point for the fans and extended family of Craig Bickhardt, as much as it is for Craig himself...
It is a joyful celebration of family, friends, and love itself. This timeless chronicler of life's insignificant moments is a father, grandfather, husband, poet, guitar alchemist and storied singer-songwriter. He is a deep and humble man, but one who projects the presence of a shaman or tribal elder. When he sings about love on this special day, you know he is reading the story of humanity writ in disappearing ink. Best pay attention.
When Craig Bickhardt steps onto a concert stage, he comes equipped with his trusty acoustic guitar. A side musician or two will frequently join him. He’s also accompanied by something invisible, yet ever-present: the stories of a lifetime, vividly translated into words and melody. For this evening's performance, Craig brings trusted friends and skilled musicians Kyle Swartzwelder and Tommy Geddes with special guest Larry Ahearn.
From the boisterous club scene of Philadelphia to the country-rock milieu of Los Angeles to the picking parlors of Nashville, Craig has immersed himself in the sights and sounds of American music. His music reflects a life lived as a rock band lead singer, a solo troubadour, a dedicated songwriter, a husband and father. Dreams, heartaches and hard-earned lessons have fed his creativity. There is no other way he could’ve written the eloquent, often bittersweet songs that have become his trademark.
“I start a lot of songs because I feel conflicted,” he explains. “I may begin from a point of darkness, but I usually end up writing towards the light because, for me, hope is the thing worth singing about. The characters in the stories I sing aren’t heroic; they’re very ordinary. But they’re reaching for something beyond themselves, and I find nobility in that.”
Craig is a singer/songwriter of the old school – you can hear echoes of such ‘60s folk revival artists as Tom Rush, Gordon Lightfoot and Eric Andersen in his work. Added to this is the melodic sophistication of a Jimmy Webb or a Paul Simon, as well as a spare but telling lyric approach. “I admire songwriters like Woody Guthrie and poets like Robert Frost because they created functional art,” he says. “Too much music today is just for the singer, not for Everyman. I think of my work as a ‘Please Touch’ museum – I want my songs to be sung until they’re worn out.”
Also crucial to Craig’s art is his virtuosic guitar work, interweaving folk, blues, country and ragtime influences into a unique whole: “The guitar isn’t just an accompanying instrument for me – sometimes it’s the front man and my voice is the accompanist.”
Craig came to music as something of a family inheritance. His father Harry worked at WIP radio in Philadelphia and moonlighted as a big band musician. As a youngster, Craig absorbed everything from Johnny Cash and Marty Robbins to Stan Kenton and Duke Ellington. At 14, Craig found an old guitar in the family attic and taught himself to play. Soon he was writing songs and performing at venues like Philadelphia’s famed Main Point.
The Philly club scene shaped his emerging musical style. “I was lucky to grow up in a town that was a melting pot for musicians,” Craig says. “I got to hear lots of RandB as well as the great folk performers of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. It taught me that nothing moves people like a great song sung with some passion.”
By the mid-‘70s, Craig was co-lead singer/guitarist with Wire and Wood, an eclectic country-rock quintet that won a fervent East Coast following. The group opened for the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Stephen Stills before relocating to L.A. in search of a record deal. Craig and his compadres succeeded in attracting the interest of Bob Dylan’s former manager Albert Grossman, who signed them to his Bearsville/October Records label. Unfortunately, Wire and Wood’s album was never completed and the group called it quits soon after.
Craig went through another life-changing ordeal while living in L.A. One night, he awoke to find that the house he shared with his band mates was on fire. He barely managed to escape before the place collapsed in flames – and came away with a revelation: “At that moment, everything in the world felt luminous again, like it did when I was young. That experience made me realize that my happiness didn’t depend on possessions or status. I suddenly felt free and very grateful to be alive.”
This brush with mortality also re-motivated him as a musician. After Wire and Wood dissolved, Craig secured an assignment to write and sing songs for Tender Mercies, a country music-themed film starring Robert Duvall. This led to a lengthy residency in Nashville, where he saw his songs recorded by such legends as Ray Charles, B.B. King, Johnny Cash, the Judds, Tony Rice and Alison Krauss.
All the while, Craig continued playing his music live at the Bluebird Café and other clubs in the Nashville area. The call to the stage grew stronger after he released his first solo album, Easy Fires, in 2001. Five years later, he returned to his Pennsylvania roots and fully came into his own as a solo performer. By the end of the decade, Craig had won a new legion of fans on the East Coast and beyond through opening gigs for the likes of Judy Collins, Kathy Mattea and Billy Joe Shaver and club dates on his own.
A Craig Bickhardt live set is a mix of absurd anecdotes and personal confessions, accompanying a well-stocked bag of original tunes and the occasional choice cover. His decades in music have given his performances the depth of experience – his love songs seem sweeter and more poignant, his story-song narratives more true-to-life than they could have in the past.
“I think people come to my shows to be reminded that there’s something profound in the small stuff we experience every day,” he says. “My goal is to get an audience to look deeper at the things we all take for granted.”
Craig Bickhardt travels light to his gigs – but he brings a great deal to the stage. He combines a seasoned troubadour’s easy command of his art with a beginner’s passion to win over his next audience and top his next song. The stories of his lifetime are simply too good not to share.
"BY FAR the best live music venue on the East Coast"
"One of the finest Venues in the USA. Jamey's House of Music"
"No kidding - Jamey's House of Music just might be the best music venue on the planet. If you enjoy live music and fine dining - go there now!"
"...the coolest venue in the universe..."
"Best. Venue. Ever."
"It's like being inside a bubble of pure sound."
"I could feel the bass in my heart. It was awesome."
"We just bought a house in Lansdowne to be closer to Jamey's"
Jamey's House of Music is Delco's best kept secret! What a gem of a space - intimate, amazing acoustics, and talented and engaging musicians. Sets run about 2 hours. The bar has a partnership with Conshohocken Brewery and offers a wide selection of beer as well as cocktails. The food is sensational -- check out the online menu ahead of time and then ask for recommendations from your server. We came in, new to the space, and fell in love with the entire vibe. Best of all was the service -- we were treated like family. We left having made friends with everyone and will certainly be back for a Thursday jazz session, another Friday or Saturday evening blues show, and the Sunday blues brunch. Prices are reasonable (about $75 for the ticket price plus food and alcohol) and there is plenty of nearby parking. If you love live music, jazz and blues, and intimate spaces with top noch sound, this is the place to be. Introduce yourself to Jamey too - he has a long and rich history of working in the music business.
"For musicians, this venue is heaven on earth!"

"What an amazing room! A friend asked me today what I thought of the room and without hesitation I said it was in the top five I’ve ever done. It was more than just the great sound, stage and set up. It was clear to me that there was such respect for the musician from the moment I walked in."
"Jamey Reilly couldn't possibly have created a finer oasis for musicians to perform. It's really a gem. SERIOUSLY! Everybody try and get a date there!!! (Just leave some room for us because we're definitely going back!!!)"
"Amazing! A hidden, intimate live music venue with impeccable sound. Sat at long tables next to total strangers and it felt like being with family. Delicious food (and great craft beer the night I was there). It’s rare to find a venue owner who cares this passionately about the music! Two big thumbs up."
"Last night we debuted at Jamey Reilly's Jamey’s House of Music. Jamey has outdone himself. He has an incredible backline, and the sound, which he engineers is exquisite. Working with Jamey helps make performing seamless. He knows what he is doing and is an excellent communicator. He is also a musician, which helps a great deal (the man has ears). The food at this venue is incredible. The flavor-I can’t begin to find the words to express how excellent it is. If you have not been to Jamey’s House of Music, get down there, catch a show. Get there early and enjoy the amazing cuisine. It will blow your mind."
"This small room is by far the best sounding music venue I've ever experienced. It's a truly exceptional labor of love..."
"Not enough room here to tell you how fabulous this venue is—music, people, food, on-tap beer, and staff are all top drawer! Prices are fantastic! The photos are shrimp over grits and a fabulous vegan burger with vegan bacon!"
"THE place to Jam!!! Jamey is the man, the myth, the legend. Great equipment & exceptional drum set."
"Jamey's is the BEST. People who never heard of the band will show up to listen, because they KNOW Jamey books the official bands, has the great food, great sound, great atmosphere...and now great craft beer. WORLD CLASS JOINT, yo!"
"I tell everyone about Jamey and Jamey's House of Music. Everyone in Nashville knows about this place. I play some of the best rooms in the world, like the Bluebird, Douglas Corner, Third and Lindsley, places with great sound systems, and nothing beats the sound in this room. ...This is my favorite place to play in the whole world."

Says John Nemeth and the Blue Dreamers: "Lansdowne is hands down - number 1!"
This wonderful Man, known to many of you bc he is Jamey Reilly who owns and runs Jamey's House of Music. Jamey did an amazing thing for me. I was shooting one night at his place and he asked to see me...I came back to him and here he was holding up a little button and said to me, "Do you know what this is?" Noooo I siad, "It's the Liza button!" He said, and pointed it at the stage and clicked the button and the stage lights all changed to exactly the kind of light I like to shoot with! I couldn't believe it! Jamey Reilly, you are SUCH a class act. I wish all venue owners were like you.
